Disability Awareness and Equality
This inclusion-focused workshop is the natural complement to the more technically oriented access audits. Barriers to inclusion and equality experienced by disabled people are not just removed through smart buildings and equipment. They require positive attitudes, accurate information and skilled engagement. This workshop aims to foster all three.
Participants on this course will be able to:
- better understand the different ways in which discrimination against disabled people can operate in relation to access to goods, services and employment;
- undo myths and stereotypes about a range of disabled people and become better informed;
- understand the Equality Act 2010 as it related to disability, and its implications for the business;
- improve their confidence and skills in serving and working with disabled people
