Flexible Working
In today’s challenging business environment, it is essential to bring out the best from your people. Building a successful business requires effective employment practice. Our Flexible Working programme is a skills-based workshop for managers who care about the business, its value, its people and its success.
Greater numbers of employees than ever before are now legally entitled to request flexible working arrangements. Successful businesses are responding proactively to this change by acknowledging both the challenge and the opportunities this presents. By recognising and engaging the diverse Workstyles of the people you employ, you have an opportunity to ensure the best possible outcome for them and for your business: it’s a win-win situation.
However, we have no illusions about the change of mind and the change of culture which may be required to take on board a positive and proactive approach to flexibility in the form of Workstyles. Every team includes individuals with diverse needs and preferences regarding workstyles. However, in many situations, this diversity is hidden behind work pressures and the “default” culture. This has hidden costs – in loss of morale, stress and related absence, low motivation, under-performing.
In this programme, we explore how a positive Workstyles approach could best be implemented in your business. We work with managers to equip them to develop, with their team’s help, and confidently introduce a personalised Workstyles programme.
As a result of their learning, delegates on this course will gain:
- understanding of the business case for Workstyles
- awareness of the law and company policy on flexible working
- knowledge of the guiding principles of flexible working
- confident communication of Workstyles and its implications for their team
- increased confidence in managing employees functioning remotely
- skills and confidence to show leadership, and manage challenging situations, when implementing a Workstyles programme
- a sustainable and equitable Workstyles framework to develop and implement in their workplace
